these are pictures of camp. i started going there when i was four years old--every summer and most christmas breaks. this place holds some of the most beautiful people i know. it also holds a lot of firsts for me, a lot of important moments. much of my shaping came from working and living there. these pictures are from a couple of summers ago. they are probably only interesting to the people who were there.

Interestingly, I am right now wearing the same shirt as the one I have on in the second office picture. I'm tempted to make a comment about grad student poverty, but really, I have a lot of money. I just have to give it all back to the government some day.

Posted by: Amin at December 3, 2004 01:07 PMwhat again is the name of this camp? i know you've probably told us many times...
Posted by: joy at December 3, 2004 01:26 PMCamp was home to us for so long and I miss it. I'm grateful for the friends and experiances it gave me. I know I would be a different person without it AND we would have never met Lica. All the pictures bring stories to my mind.
If any of you camp people are reading this and you're heading out to camp this holiday, get in touch with Kell or me and come out and see us.
Posted by: Michelle (Metcalf) Duncan at December 3, 2004 01:44 PMi have to admit seeing these pics. put a little lump in my throat. it was a pretty great place!
Posted by: jayf at December 3, 2004 02:48 PMWhat wonderful pictures! While looking over them, it make me feel that warm camp fire from Xi Rho when I see all the faces of extrodinary people from camp. Kelly, I can't wait to come see you and your family this Christmas. Thank you for sharing these pictures and great memories again. What amazing times God has truely blessed us with~
Posted by: Chelsea Stone at December 3, 2004 02:51 PMFunny how camp thoughts almost always put that lump in my throat too. Even thinking about sleeping through alarms and running all the way from girls camp to the dining hall for kitchen duty with betsy. yea, even that makes me nostalgic. I spent Thanksgiving at a cabin with my family this year and it smelled like camp.
love you kell!

amin. i was wishing i had the skirt that i'm wearing in one of these pictures, but it's michelle's...like half of my favorite cloths. there are more pictures of the office and they remind me of what a bum i was that summer.
joy. it's called "the vineyard". beautiful place.
michelle. these pictures are from the summer you and erik fell in love.
jamie. me too.
chelsea. i can't wait to see you guys.
erin. i've been missing you. camp is the only place that could make me love scrubbing toilets or working in a kitchen. two of my favorite camp moments are with you and sara looking at stars. up at dean's, and then on the soccer field for the shooting star.
Posted by: kelly at December 3, 2004 04:59 PMKelly. Bum is right. I was doing the work of seven transportation heads. Oh wait, you were in charge of discipleship. Woops.
Posted by: Amin at December 3, 2004 06:34 PMThanks Kelly. I loved those years, especially the summer of Sri Lanka. It's almost shocking looking back; there were so many significant things happening so fast. I miss laying on the ground with you and Meg. I miss sitting and listening to your mom.I miss following you around. It was the simplicity of the place that made me so comfortable.
Posted by: Jordan at December 3, 2004 07:32 PMKelly, this is crazy. How amazing was that summer? These pictures make me smile, and want to cry at the same time. I miss you and everyone so much. The one of bennett and myself trips me out. two years later- who knew? God is amazing. I want to see you at Christmas. I'll call you guys soon. Love you~
