moving along--slowly

this weekend begins my professional family member days. which i suppose is what i've been doing my whole life, but i'm starting for real now...sort of. so sunday i move all of 45 minutes down the road to be with my lovely grandparents for 2 months. my grandmother and i intend on having many painting/making things lessons and sessions. we also plan to organize boxes of old forgotten pictures, which means much loved story telling. but most important, we will dote on and care for my grandfather while he recovers from hip surgery. i'm trying to think of another name to call myself while i am their house guest and devoted servant. i plan to wear an apron. then after that while, i'm moving on to chattanooga for some unknown amount of time. i could use a job. anyone have any suggestions that include coffee, music, books, or art?

I hope this goes wonderfully for you! It sounds like a fantastic idea, and a wonderful opportunity!

If you're serious about this, you're welcome to come to our home. We have plenty of room and plenty of kids. ;-) We have a couple of coffeehouses nearby, one within ten minutes, and a serene landscape. I could definitely arrange an open house of your art, and I could definitely use you to inspire my Monet.

So, if you're up for o-HI-o, think on it.

All sounds wonderful, Kelly. May the Lord bless you and your grampages during this unique time. I like the idea of going through old photos -- I could get lost in that sort of thing -- it is something I love doing.

A name... hmmm... What about...
"Miss Kelly. M.D.S." (ie. My Devoted Servant).

Suggestions: what about a coffee shop / cafe thingie where they have occasional music, art hanging off the walls, poetry readings and book browsing. Sounds like a profitable business (and perhaps a headache).

Please come to Toronto, my family and I would be delighted to host your stay here. Toronto is more interesting once the snow melts and the April showers have gone. If you can get yourself here, we'll make sure you meet some of our local artists and sell some stuff.
How about Artist In Residence (AIR) or Erica you are a breath of fresh air floating through time and space capturing beauty then just as swiftly moving to your next exciting destination. (Way more romantic sounding than airhead). Oh andI still want to buy photos of the farm houses from you!

kel, these other offers sound nice, but our dodgy attic is a place you could really call home. a short walk from atomic cafe and tapas... could be so lovely. the eats are good and free - i have been cooking almost every day. i'm a surrogate family member anywhow, so consider a visit or, at the very least, give me a call soon. i might apply for a job at landmark this week to teach in the fall!

beth. very tempting, my dear friend. you know i would love to be a regular at the atomic...or better, work there. i would get terribly fat eating your food all the time. but it would be lovely. you know i'd wash the dishes. you should definitely apply for the job. it's perfect. i call you soon.

lissa. thanks very much. i like the idea of toronto, and i've never been out of the u.s. even to canada or mexico. nice name choices, but i think i've already decided to be jane.

peter. thanks. my grandmother is the best person to look at pictures with. she gets lost in her stories, and i love experiencing it with her.
and, my dream has always been to own a coffee shop/bookstore, of course with artwork and warm lighting.

thicket dweller. thank you for the very kind offer. i do like children and rural settings.

liesa. thank you very much.
